South Coast Botanic Garden Offers a Fun New Alternative for the Picnic Fanatic

Previous Post

ESKRIDGE LAW client, South Coast Botanic Garden, has more than just daisies and dahlias blooming this summer.

For the first time, the Garden is launching a new Bespoke Picnic Program. Visitors have long since enjoyed picnics across the 10 meadows and 87 acres of the garden. Instead of carrying in and preparing everything themselves, visitors can now book a private, intimate picnic package through the Garden. Begin your day with a scavenger hunt, which ends at your private picnic location.

The Garden is one of the first botanical gardens to be developed over a sanitary landfill, promoting a model of reclamation and sustainability. In 1961, private citizens prevailed against County Board Supervisors to convert the landfill, and began planting over 40,000 trees that April. With a section of land dedicated to art, edible plants, a children’s garden, a koi pound, weddings, and picnics, there’s something for everyone to do in the Garden.
